Position yourself in the right network.
Jim Rohn (the late Personal Development guru) famously said, “You’re the average of your five closest people.” I believe it is a lot broader than that. I think you’re the average of your entire network.
Are the people around you supportive of your business goals? Or are they limiting you? Unfortunately, the people who are closest to us are often the ones who hold us back from achieving our full potential.
You value what your family and friends say, and, at the core, they want to protect you and keep you safe. Unfortunately, they are inadvertently imposing their insecurities onto you, and what’s worse is that you’re listening.
It’s time you audited your friends. Ensure you’re surrounding yourself with people that will support you and help you grow. It’s not going to be easy to change the current relationship with your friends and family, but this is your business, and you need to do what’s required to create success.
I know you want to achieve your business goals on your own, but it’s often great to have someone else to support and challenge you in the pursuit of these goals.
With that said, make sure that you choose the right accountability buddy. In many cases, our friends and family are not suitable accountability buddies because they want to keep us safe and won’t tell us the truth.
In numerous situations, you need someone who won’t let you get away with your BS excuses. The reason you aren’t where you’d like to be is that you’re in your own way, hence you need an objective perspective to help you move forwards.

Start thinking about who could be the right accountability buddy for you. The right person will be essential in your journey towards business success.
